OSB WWE Backlash Bets Favor John Cena To Spoil Orton Homecoming

WWE Backlash best bets headline several title bouts and a fatal four-way for this WWE Night on Saturday, May 10th. Now will the favorites win or will there be some upsets?

We try to pick some winners and more ahead of Saturday, May 10, when the WWE heads to St. Louis. Expect a good card that gets the juices flowing for Money In The Bank which comes up in June.

  • What: WWE Backlash From St. Louis
  • When: Saturday, May 10, 2025
  • Start Time: 6 p.m. EDT (preliminary matches), 7 p.m. EDT (main matches)
  • Where: St. Louis, Missouri
  • Venue: Enterprise Center
  • Where to Watch: Peacock
  • Main Events: Cena versus Orton, Fatal 4-way, Lynch versus Valkyra, Gunther versus McAfee

The headlined main event is probably John Cena versus Randy Orton. Orton and his St. Louis roots are well documented. If this feels like a match out of 2009, it might. Either way, expect a spirted match that still probably has an all-too predictable result. This is partly why those numbers are moving the way they are.

After all, several of these matches have the potential to be tied into Money In The Bank which takes place next month. Keep that in mind when making wagers here. Yes, this is a case where looking ahead may not hurt as much. There are many schools of thoughts and the idea of playing too much into potential spoilers might ruin a bet or two.

Next, there is that Women's Intercontinental Championship. Like John Cena, Becky Lynch did not turn heel for nothing which created a bit of a dilemma for the WWE in a way. Lyra Valkyria is the champion but it feels like that shelf life on the belt is growing shorter and shorter by the day.

Now, the questions keep rising. Is this a bridge event to Money In The Bank or is this not a bridge to Money In The Bank? The answer feels obvious here.

WWE Backlash Best Bets: The Table

These matches will bring about their own storylines and fun. Usually, this is where predictions go to die. However, the odds remain honed in on lots of retention this Saturday. People will forget that UFC 315 also takes place later on Saturday night. Here are some updated online UFC betting lines. As for WWE Backlash best bets, here is that table.

Randy Orton Gets Pop But John Cena Retains

The storyline up to this bout may end up better than the actual match. Randy Orton gets the pop but John Cena retains feels too easy. Orton can work a match but at this stage, John Cena can work one even better. From a quality perspective, something like a low blow or interference will help the heel (Cena) at some point. However, when Orton comes out on Saturday night, the Enterprise Center may explode like the St. Louis Blues. Oh wait!

Again, every WWE match tells a story and this is one that is 20+ years old. The match, like the rivalry, will have its chapters. The reality is this. Does anyone think the WWE is going to have Cena lose the title this early? Let us be honest. This angle took too long to build to tear it down that quickly. It would not be completely unheard of, but highly unlikely.

Yes, Randy Orton will get predictably close to a title. He will magically earn several 2-counts in that match. Maybe, the referee almost gets to three or should have once. Either way, the quality of the match will get overshadowed by everything else. As the time wears along in this match, expect a few mistakes along the way.

The good news is that the retention is pretty predictable like one of the wrestlers going through the announcer's table. Cena will retain here to eventually set up something for Summer Slam. Do not forget to check out our online betting guides for a little "Bettors 101".

Does Becky Lynch Get That Title?

Elsewhere with WWE Backlash Best Bets, we have a women's belt to be decided. Becky Lynch takes on Lyra Valkyria for the Women's Intercontinental Championship. When Lynch turned heel, there felt like an inevitability. At some point, Lynch was going to wear the belt. Whether it is now or later, it will happen.

Now, the legal sports betting in the USA does not include Missouri just yet. They have passed the necessary bills, but implementation is not expected till the Fall of 2025. However, plenty of other states can get in on the action of this match. There is this growing sense that Lynch could not only be a champion after this match but be set up for the next Wrestlemania too.

If Lynch gets the title, it will be by a simple 1-2-3 count and not a submission move.

A Couple More Matches On The Main Card

WWE Backlash best bets offer a few more matches on the main card. Expect Fatu to defend his U.S. belt in the fatal 4-way as he is one of the top workers in the business with the most talent among the four wrestlers. Each will get to showcase but in the end, Fatu will be the one left standing. The best odds we could find for this match was -2500 at BetUS. Other books had Fatu in a virtual headlock.

Also, Gunther is going to beat Pat McAfee.
