Thailand GP Top Contenders

The reigning series champion, Marc Marquez, got his MotoGP season off to a successful start by winning the Thailand Grand Prix.

In this season’s Thailand Grand Prix, following Saturday's qualifying will be the 13-lap sprint. The 26-lap main event race is set for Sunday at 3 am EST around the 12-turn, 2.829-mile Chang International Circuit.

Remember, the race odds could be changing based on the results of the qualifying round and the sprint race. That’s why it’s always wise to track the early outcomes. You’ll be able to see which riders are holding hot hands and are the best bets for you to back.

Let's look at the top contenders for this race.

Marc Marquez (-110)

The MotoGP world champion opened the 2025 season with a win in this race. It was one of 11 victories he'd record over 18 races before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in a crash.

The elder Marquez also won the Thailand Grand Prix in 2018 and 2019. He's the only rider who's won on this track more than once.

Marco Bezzecchi (+275)

The Aprilia rider finished the 2025 season strongly, with back-to-back wins in Portugal and Valencia. Those were among three wins he recorded last year, Bezzecchi's first wins on the circuit since 2023.

The Italian rider landed on the podium nine times over 22 races.

Alex Marquez (+450)

It was perhaps fitting that the younger Marquez wound up second in the overall standings last season, considering he finished second in seven races. Marquez also had wins in three races.

He was second to his brother in last year's Thailand GP.  That was the first podium finish for the Spaniard in this race.

Francesco Bagnaia (+1000)

MotoGP world champion in 2022 and 2023, and runner-up in 2024, Ducati's Bagnaia stumbled through a rough 2025 season. The Italian rider did record two wins and eight podium finishes. However, Bagnaia also endured six DNFs over the final seven races.

He was third in last year's Thailand GP. Bagnaia holds track marks for the fastest qualifying time and fastest lap.

Pedro Acosta (+2000)

Acosta's 2025 performance in the Thailand Grand Prix was his worst of the season. He finished 19th. On the other hand, he was second in this race in 2023 and finished third in 2024.

Ai Ogura (+2000)

The 2024 Moto2 champion made his MotoGP debut in this race last year, finishing fifth. It was among eight top-10 finishes posted by the Japanese rider.

Jorge Martin (+2800)

After winning the MotoGP world title in 2024, Spaniard Martin struggled through injuries in 2025. Martin started just one of the first 11 races. His best finish all season was a fourth in Hungary.

Martin won the 2023 Thailand GP and was second in the race in 2024.

Latest MotoGP Championship Odds

In MotoGP futures, Marc Marquez is set as the odds-on favorite to retain his world title. Oddsmakers have assigned -300 odds to the Spanish rider in the MotoGP betting lines.

It's his younger brother, Alex Marquez, who's the second choice in this betting market. His MotoGP odds are +550. Next is Bezzecchi with a betting line of +600.

Accessing +1200 odds on Bagnaia is certainly intriguing. Those are long odds on someone riding a factory Ducati who was world champion as recently as 2023.

Acosta (+1400) is the only other driver showing a MotoGP betting line that is shorter than +3300.

It's rookie rider Toprak Razgatlioglu who is given those +3300 betting odds. Gathered at a betting line of +4000 are Joan Mir, 2024 champion Martin, Fermin Aldeguer, and Maverick Vinales.

Thailand Grand Prix MotoGP Best Bet

Marc Marquez is seeking his eighth MotoGP title. It would snap the current tie he has with Valentino Rossi for the most world championships won in this category.

As much as it's tempting to look for a price on one of the other riders, until someone shows they can consistently beat Marquez, that seems to be an unwise investment. Go with Marc Marquez to win in the Thailand Grand Prix MotoGP picks.
