Mintz leads Syracuse with 23 points per game but has not faced a defense like the Volunteers. Tennessee rode that intensity into a lot of success over the past couple of seasons.
The other thing Tenneseee knows is that they allow 57.7 points per game which ranks 18th in the nation. No one should be surprised here. The Upper Classmen of the Volunteers lead the way. Dalton Knecht averages nearly 20 points a game. The inevitable is what happens when some of these star players begin playing 30+ minutes a night. It begins during these tournaments and invitationals.
Now, there are quite a few reasons why Tennessee is favored here. For one, the quality of opposition, the experience that the Volunteers have along with their leadership, a veteran coach like Rick Barnes, and yes that road win at Wisconsin. The expectations for Tennessee may be even higher than the previous few campaigns. Even with the SEC being a little tougher, pundits tend to believe the Volunteers can fare well in this invitational among the palm trees.
Again, Tennessee features three players from the Top 100 GSCI and that does not include Knecht or Jordan Gainey. If there is one matchup which looms big in this game, it is the youthful guards of Syracuse versus that leadership of Tennessee. The Volunteers expect to have the advantage there.

Surprisingly, Aidoo possesses a solid amount of speed for a big man.
