Longhorns vs Sooners
Texas is a 3-point home favorite over Oklahoma on Saturday, and the OVER/UNDER is set at just 42.5 points with two of the better defenses in college football squaring off.
Michael Hawkins Jr. made his first start of the year in the Sooners' 44-0 blowout of Kent State in week 6. Subbing in for the injured John Mateer, the sophomore backup QB passed for 162 yards and three touchdowns while adding 33 rushing yards and a score on the ground.

Arch Manning under fire
Arch Manning was sacked seven times in Texas' 29-21 loss to the Gators on Saturday. The preseason Heisman Trophy frontrunner continued his disappointing campaign, completing 16-of-29 passes for 263 yards and two TDs with two crucial interceptions.
Following the defeat to Florida, Steve Sarkisian's Longhorns dropped all the way out of the AP Poll with a 3-2 record.
Red River Rivalry
Texas leads the series all-time at 64-51-5, however, the Sooners are 17-8 since the turn of the century.
The Longhorns are coming off a 34-3 blowout win over Oklahoma last year in what was their first meeting as SEC members. In 2023, the No. 12 Sooners defeated No. 3 Texas 34-30.
The two schools haven't met in Dallas with both teams ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll since 2008 - a streak that continues this year.

Texas Longhorns vs Oklahoma Sooners Picks
With a 5-0 record, the Sooners would almost certainly be favored if it wasn't for the absence of John Mateer, who was the Heisman Trophy favorite before getting injured.
While Michael Hawkins Jr. performed admirably against Kent State last week, defeating Texas at the Cotton Bowl will prove a much tougher challenge.
Take Texas to cover (-3.0) with the UNDER 42.5.
