NFL Betting News This Week | Vikings Last of the Unbeaten, Latest Super Bowl Line Movement & Market Watch | October 29, 2026

Seven weeks are in the books in the NFL regular season. The ranks of the unbeaten are down to one, and there’s a new team sitting atop the odds as the Super Bowl favorite.

The 6-0 Minnesota Vikings will be facing the Detroit Lions in a key NFC North showdown in Week 8, as the NFL’s last unbeaten team continues to face more naysayers than believers. At the outset of the season, an NFC West team was favored to win the Super Bowl. Entering Week 8, an NFC West team is favored to win the Super Bowl. Only it’s a different team.

The struggling Los Angeles Rams long ago surrendered their status as Super Bowl chalk. The Buffalo Bills briefly held forth as the pick to win the big game. However, now it is the Rams’ NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers, who are the +600 pick to win the Super Bowl.

Buffalo (+750) and Kansas City (+850), despite losing for the first time this season, are the only other teams with betting lines shorter than +1000.

The Rams and another NFC West team, the Seattle Seahawks, are both given Super Bowl odds of +1200. Then you have the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, and Chicago Bears all at betting lines of +1400. No other team is showing a betting line shorter than +2000.

Futures markets are now reacting to roster moves, quarterback health, slow starts, and Week 7 outcomes. For all your news, views, and analysis, check out NFL betting.

Sad LA Stories

Vikings Facing Tough Test

Steelers Seek Revenge

NFL's Best ATS Teams

NFL's Worst ATS Teams

Favored to win the Super Bowl at the outset of the NFL season, the 3-4 Los Angeles Rams are three games out of the NFC West lead. A playoff team in each of the past two seasons following identical 11-6 seasons, the Los Angeles Chargers are the NFL's only remaining winless team at 0-6. As LA's two NFL teams meet on the gridiron in Week 8, is there any hope of a positive LA story still emerging this season?
What will it take for people to take the Minnesota Vikings seriously as a Super Bowl contender? Well, a Week 8 win at Ford Field over the 4-2 Detroit Lions in a key NFC North clash would go a long way toward doing that. Minnesota swept the season series from Detroit last season for the first time since 2020. The Vikings' win at Detroit was their first victory at Ford Field since 2021.
The bitterness between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns extends back through the decades. With both teams entering Week 8 at 5-2, the top spot in the AFC North will be on the line at Heinz Field. The Browns won 27-24 over the Steelers in Week 4 at Cleveland. However, the Browns are just 1-22 straight up in their last 23 visits to Pittsburgh.
Through seven weeks of NFL action, both the Browns and Steelers are among the six teams sharing the NFL's best record this season against the spread. Pittsburgh and Cleveland are each 5-2 ATS. That's a 71.4% cover rate. Also at 5-2 ATS are the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants.

Not only are the Los Angeles Chargers the NFL’s only remaining winless team, but they are also the only NFL team that has failed to cover the spread this season. The Chargers are an NFL worst 0-5-1 ATS. At 1-6, the Philadelphia Eagles are the NFC's worst ATS club. Just behind Philly are the Lions at 1-4-1 ATS.

Latest NFL MVP odds

Quarterbacks traditionally dominate the NFL MVP Award, and oddsmakers are seeing that trend continuing in 2026. Among the 16 players assigned odds in an NFL MVP futures wager at BetOnline, 14 of those players are QBs.

Quarterbacks have won each of the past 13 NFL MVP Awards and all but one of the MVP awards since 2007. The current favorite to win NFL MVP in 2026 at odds of +170 is Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (+400), San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (+500), and Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (+900) are all showing NFL MVP betting lines shorter than +1000.

Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams (+1200), New England Patriots QB Drake Maye (+1400), and Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (+2000) are the next three players in this betting market. Mahomes was NFL MVP in 2018 and 2022.

You have to go all the way to +5000 to find the first non-QB in this betting market. Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is that guy.

Super Bowl odds movers: biggest risers, fallers and value bets

Biggest risers

New York Giants (+8000)

Leading the NFC East by 1.5 games, is it finally time to take the Giants seriously?
They haven't missed a beat despite a season-ending injury to Jaxson Dart. Jameis Winston initially stepped in, but J.J. McCarthy took over as QB1 in Week 7.

In Week 7, New York's football Giants went into Houston as 9.5-point road underdogs and beat the Texans 27-21 in OT. New York's Super Bowl odds shortened from +12000.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+8000)

The Super Bowl futures market on the Steelers shortened from +12000 to +8000. The Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy reunion is working. Pittsburgh is 5-2. Coupled with a traditionally stingy defense, the Steelers are legit contenders in the AFC playoff race.

Pittsburgh faces a Week 8 showdown with the equally surprising 5-2 Cleveland Browns. Cleveland is one of the two teams to beat the Steelers this season. Arizona's Super Bowl odds jumped from +40000 to +80000

Cincinnati Bengals (+2000)

Joe Burrow and company are traditionally slow starters. Last week's 35-13 whipping of their division rivals the Baltimore Ravens was a sure sign that the Bengals are beginning to go on the prowl.

Shortening in Super Bowl betting lines from +2100, Cincinnati has won two in a row and is 3-1 SU on the road.

Biggest fallers

New York Jets (+80000)

New York is a tale of two football teams. While the Giants sit atop the NFC East, the Jets are ... well, being very Jets-like.

If you thought things couldn't get worse for the Jets, then you haven't been watching this team for long. After losing to the previously winless Dolphins, the Jets were sinking to new lows, with their Super Bowl futures moving from +50000 to +80000.

Philadelphia Eagles (+5000)

Blasted 38-21 by the Dallas Cowboys on their home field, the Eagles fell to last in the NFC East. QB  Jalen Hurts, WR DeVonta Smith, and WR are all out with injuries.

In four weeks, Philly's Super Bowl odds lengthened from +1600 to +30000.

Arizona Cardinals (+3000)

Arizona has a win this season against the Los Angeles Rams, the preseason favorite to win the Super Bowl. Still, following last week's 30-16 home-field loss to the Denver Broncos, the Cardinals are 0-3 SU at home.

Arizona's Super Bowl odds jumped from +40000 to +80000.

Best value left on the board

Minnesota Vikings (+2000)

No one has beaten the Vikings this season, and it seems as though no one is willing to view this team as the real deal when talking about Super Bowl contenders.

A smothering, aggressive defense has helped Minnesota keep the goose egg in the loss column. At +2000 the Vikings continue to offer value in Super Bowl futures.
