Packers open as slight favorites

Green Bay is a slight 1-point road favorite at Soldier Field on Saturday, although the Bears are chalk at some sportsbooks. Head coaching feud heats up

Ben Johnson took a shot at Matt Lafleur at his introductory press conference at Chicago’s head coach last winter, saying, “To be quite frank with you, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year.” Following a hardfought 19-16 loss to the Lions on Sunday, Johnson upped the ante, sub-tweeting the Packers HC for sitting his players in a 16-3 defeat to the Vikings in the season finale.

“Some teams, they rest their starters. We don’t. We play football,” he said.

Ancient rivalry

Saturday's Bears-Packers matchup will be the 212th including playoffs - most in NFL history. Not that it matters, but Green Bay holds the all-time series lead at 109-96-6. This will also be the first postseason meeting between the two clubs since the 2010 NFC Championship, a 21-14 Green Bay victory at Soldier Field.
