Best NFL Prop of Week 14: Stefon Diggs and Travis Kelce to Combine for 175+ Receiving Yards
On Sunday, December 10, at 4:25 p.m. eastern standard time, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in what may be the most anticipated game of Week 14. Buffalo is coming off a bye while Kansas City is working off a disappointing loss to the Green Bay Packers. The stakes are high, as both squads are trying to solidify (different levels) of NFL playoff positioning. And to be honest, betting on Stefon Diggs and Travis Kelce to combine for 175-plus receiving yards almost feels like stealing money. Both players are the preferred targets of their superstar quarterbacks, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, respectively. Both are also no strangers to racking up between 85 to 90 passing yards apiece.
Kelce has held up his end of this bargain in each of his past two games. Diggs is slightly more of a wild card these days. He hasn’t eclipsed 85 passing yards in any of his past three games. But that just means he’s due. And for as good as Kansas City’s defense has been, they don’t force a ton of interceptions and rank in the bottom half of the league in passing touchdowns allowed. Diggs should get ample volume under his belt.
Will Keenan Allen and Courtland Sutton Also Combine for 175+ Receiving Yards?
Let’s stick with the same theme. And we’re going to roll with “yes.”
Courtland Sutton of the Denver Broncos hasn’t cleared 100 receiving yards in a single game this season. He also hasn’t eclipsed the 80-yard mark since Week 3. But that has more to do with the Broncos’ game plan. They favor short-yardage gains with Russell Wilson under center.
However, the field should open up for Sutton against the Los Angeles Chargers. They have one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL. And since Sutton has been targeted fewer than five times just once over the past seven weeks, we’re betting he records at least 75-plus yards by himself.
Keenan Allen is equipped to handle the balance. Denver’s defense has tightened up over the past couple of months, but they still rank 26th in net yards allowed per passing attempt and 31st in total passing yards allowed overall. Allen, meanwhile, is averaging nearly 14 targets per game over his past four outings—three of which have included 100-plus-yard receiving totals.
Can Nico Collins Finish with 11+ Receptions for the Houston Texans in Week 14?
We’re stepping out on a limb with this one. Come join us, won’t you?
The Houston Texans are taking on the New York Jets—who, despite their record, have pieced together a pretty stingy defense. Investing in Nico Collins’ NFL prop will be a tall order against them. He has finished with 11 or more targets three times this season, including twice in the past three weeks. But the Jets are fourth in net yards allowed per passing attempt, force interceptions at a high frequency and own a top-10 sack rate on the season. They have the chops to completely stall out a team’s passing game.
Then again, New York has struggled against higher-volume passing teams with quality decision-makers under center. They surrendered 30-plus points to both the Bills and Miami Dolphins in the month of November.
C.J. Stroud and the Texans passing attack are cut from the same mold. The former may be a rookie QB, but he leads the NFL in total passing yards. And Nico Collins is his favorite target.
Now, 11 receptions would represent a season-high. But the Texans need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive, and they’re dealing with a spate of injuries to pass-catchers, including tight end Dalton Schultz and wideouts Noah Brown and Tank Dell. Even if the Jets throw the kitchen sink at him, Collins should be able to eat.
