Now Klubnik is entering his senior season with the best team the Tigers have had in ages. So much so that Dabo Swinney has floated the idea of going undefeated this season. If they do, or even if they lose 1 game, Klubnik will have a strong case for the award.

Another thing with Klubnik and Clemson is that they avoid the stiffest competition until the College Football Playoff. The ACC is ok, but pales in comparison to what Manning will face in the SEC (plus an out-of-conference matchup against Ohio State). All this creates a clear path to the Heisman for the QB1.

Alright, we said the Heisman is a QB award, and it mostly is. But there are exceptions to the rule — such as Travis Hunter a year ago. If there’s anyone in the field that has the same anomaly potential, then it’s Smith, the Buckeyes' wide receiver. He had a historic season as a freshmen a year ago with 76 catches, 1,315 yards, and 15 touchdowns. All three were records for a true freshman.

Smith is back, and you almost have to expect him to be even better in Year 2 — and that’s a scary thought. Ohio State is defending its national championship this season, and surely, they’ll rely on an explosive offense like they always do. We expect Smith to put up more video game numbers all 2025.
