Dodgers and Phillies favored
Los Angeles (+450) is a slight favorite to repeat as World Series champions. Shohei Ohtani just became the first player with back-to-back 50-homer seasons since Alex Rodriguez in 2001-02. Mookie Betts has also been red hot in September, hitting .385 with four doubles, four home runs and 16 RBIs in 12 games. With doubles-machine Freddie Freeman and third baseman Max Muncy, the Dodgers' batting order is stacked top to bottom.
Philadelphia (+475) is just behind LA thanks to Kyle Schwarber, who's closing in on Ryan Howard's franchise-record 58 dingers. However, the Phillies seem a bit overvalued given the loss of ace Zack Wheeler and Trea Turner's hamstring injury.
Shohei Ohtani creates a new 50-50 club!

What about the Brew Crew?
Milwaukee (+700) isn't the favorite despite its MLB-best 92-59 record. The small-market Brewers recently clinched their seventh playoff spot in the last eight seasons. But they've yet to make the World Series and only have one NLCS appearance (2018) in six tries.
American League contenders
Detroit (+850) is four games behind Toronto (+850) for the best record in the AL and both should get a coveted first-round bye. That's good news for the Blue Jays especially as they’ve been swept in the wild-card round three consecutive times, going 0-6 against the Rays (2020), Mariners (2022) and Twins (2023).
Tarik Skubal looks to be okay after leaving his last start with side tightness. With a 13-5 record, 2.26 ERA and 224 strikeouts this season, the Tigers' ace is set to become the first AL pitcher to win back-to-back Cy Young awards since Pedro Martinez in 1999-2000.

Lucky Longshot
Seattle (+900) entered Wednesday on a 10-game winning streak. Eyeing their first AL West Division title since 2001, the Mariners' young pitching staff makes them a sneaky bet this October.
2025 World Series Championship Pick
Leading the Majors with 45 comeback victories, the Blue Jays are built for October baseball. We'll take Toronto to capture their first World Series title since winning back-to-back championships in 1992 and 1993.
