Wemby favored for ASG MVP

Victor Wembanyama (+700) is the favorite to win NBA All-Star Game MVP. The 7-foot-5 Spurs specimen put in noticeable effort in last year's three-game mini-tournament, recording 6 points, 4 rebounds and a block in a semifinal loss.

Wemby will be one of the headliners on Team World, who will be without both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo. In the round-robin tournament, his squad of international players will face off against younger USA Stars and a veteran USA Stripes club, with a winner-take-all final.

Is Luka a better bet?

Luka Doncic (+900) is leading the NBA with 32.8 points per game. He's also third in assists per game (8.6) and fourth in 3-pointers made per game (3.5). While the 26-year-old Slovenian has been dealing with a mild hamstring strain, he's a better bet than Wemby to put up monster point totals in a run-and-gun All-Star format that prioritizes offense over defense.

Also keep in mind that Doncic will be playing at home in Los Angeles, as the Clippers' Intuit Dome is hosting the event.

Young guns ready for spotlight

Anthony Edwards (+950) and Cade Cunningham (+1000) are expected to carry the offensive load for the younger U.S. All-Stars. Edwards is averaging the third-most points per game (29.6) while only Nikola Jokic is averaging more assists per game than the Pistons' young guard.

The problem is the oddsmakers have made the USA Stars +220 underdogs to win the tournament, and it's a safe bet that the ASG MVP will come from the winning club.

What about the old guys?

Stephen Curry will miss the All-Star Game after winning his second ASG MVP at last year's event. That means his fellow "uncs" LeBron James (+1400) and Kevin Durant (+1400) will have to pick up the offensive slack. King James has won the award three times but not since 2018, and Durant captured his second-career All-Star MVP back in 2019.

2026 NBA All-Star Game MVP Picks

While we like Luka Doncic (+900) to win MVP for Team World, Jaylen Brown (+2000) and Donovan Mitchell (+2000) are the two best values on the board. Currently fourth and fifth in points per game respectively, both Brown and Mitchell will play a leading role on a USA Stripes team that needs to replace Curry's scoring.
