Betting On Leicester Online

Leicester City hit the headlines during the 2015-16 season for all the right reasons. They did the unthinkable and won the Premier League title by 10 points. The team known as The Foxes, who play out of the King Power Stadium, were bottom of the table at Christmas in the 2014-15 season yet managed to turn their fortunes around. What a turnaround. It was probably the biggest betting story of the year as the odds on Leicester to win the title were astronomical. Leicester came back down to Earth in the 2016-17 season, finishing middle of the pack.  [+]

Claudio Ranieri worked wonders, turning Leicester City into a deadly counter-attacking team, one that simply could not stop winning.

Before a ball was kicked in the 2015-16 season, some bookmakers were offering odds of +500000 on Leicester City winning the Premier League, but these odds were quickly slashed as the Foxes tore apart anyone who dare stand in their way.

Forward Jamie Vardy scored 24 goals in 36 Premier League games, earning him a call-up to England’s Euro 2016 squad, while Riyad Mahrez put in dozens of scintillating performances to earn him the Player of the Year award.

Elsewhere in the team, Kasper Schmeichel was phenomenal in goal, central defensive pair Robert Huth and captain Wes Morgan were rocks, and the combination of N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater in the centre of midfield was one of the bets pairings seen in the league.

They weren’t able to carry their Cinderella story into the 2016-17 campaign, starting the season woefully. They rebounded well after Ranieiri was fired, climbing out of relegation trouble and into the middle of the pack.

Leicester Online Betting Tips

Leicester had a miserable start to the 2016-17 season. Everyone knew quickly they had no chance of defending their Premier League title. Things went so badly in the first half of the season that Leicester was embroiled in a relegation dogfight.

However, the owners made the controversial decision to fire Ranieri. It turned out to be the right call as Leicester, as well as Vardy, caught fire. They climbed the table and started to play like most people expected they would from the start of the season.

Leicester had a lot of trouble on the defensive side of the ball. Their aging defense endured all sorts of difficulties trying to keep up with spry, lively Premier League strikers. Look to back the overs market in the lion’s share of Leicester matches.

The Foxes were one of the worst top flight teams on their travels. Their away record was similar to the bottom dwellers of the divsion so look to bet against them when they’re on the road. The reverse is true of their home record. This team loves playing at the King Power Stadium so take that into account when placing your bets.

Expected to improve in 2017-18, look for the Foxes to play more consistently from the start of the season. They shouldn’t finish above 7th or 8th place.
