NBA Futures
While betting on NBA games daily during the regular season is entertaining enough, sometimes it can be fun to bet on an event that happens in the far off future – aptly named NBA Futures betting. You can place a wager on a number of events throughout the NBA season, like the East and West Conference winners and who will win the NBA Finals.
NBA Futures odds are released almost immediately after the conclusion of the season – usually within hours of crowning the NBA Finals champions. Sportsbooks act quickly to get the futures for the following season out, so sports bettors can make their predictions (we really feel it’s a total guess at that point) right away to lock in the most far-out odds possible.
It’s hard to predict the winners of the NBA Finals when you just watched the Championship of the previous season the night before. Many sports bettors will do a few smaller wagers to spread out the risk, choosing a few different teams.

2023/24 NBA Futures
The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets came out as the favorites entering the 2023-24 NBA season after their thrilling seven-game series in the 2023 NBA Finals. The new season tips off on October 24th with a TNT doubleheader featuring the defending champion Nuggets hosting the Lakers, followed by the Suns visiting the Warriors. The playoff format remains unchanged with 16 teams qualifying – the top 8 from each conference. The 2026 NBA Finals will start in June.

With the Western Conference looking wide open this season, oddsmakers have installed the Los Angeles Clippers as the betting favorites. The Nuggets top the odds board as the defending champions Denver Nuggets start at +250, followed by the Phoenix Suns (+300), Golden State Warriors (+650) and Los Angeles Lakers (+650).
In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics sit atop the odds at +185 after reaching the semi-finals last season. The Milwaukee Bucks are next at +175, while the Philadelphia 76ers (+700), Miami Heat (+1200) and Brooklyn Nets (+4000) round out the top contenders.
