Online Premier League Match Day Picks

By Matt Pitt

Everton (+260) vs. Chelsea (+100)

Everton still have faint hopes of securing a top four finish and qualifying for the Champions League next season but their task is made extremely difficult this weekend with the visit of league leaders Chelsea.

The Toffees have been excellent at home all season, winning 12, drawing four and losing only one of their games at Goodison Park. Everton have won their last eight home fixtures in a row and games taking place in Merseyside have resulted in 54 goals being scored, the fifth highest in the Premier League.

Chelsea are four points clear of Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table.

These sides met twice at Goodison Park last season, once in the league and in the FA Cup, and Everton came out on top winning 2-0 in the cup and 3-1 in the Premier League. Looking at previous encounters, four of the last six clashes between these two teams have triggered the over 3.5 goals market, however, both teams are more defensively sound today so don't expect a lot of goals.

Neither side has any new injury doubts so both teams could be unchanged for this encounter. The draw looks good at +255.

Pick: Draw at +255

Tottenham Hotspur (-120) vs. Arsenal (+300)

The pick of the weekend’s action takes place at White Hart Lane where title hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur take on North London rivals Arsenal.

Spurs have been superb this season and would be worthy league champions, but they trail Chelsea by four points. Twelve consecutive home wins (15 wins and two draws from 17 home fixtures) have helped keep Spurs in touch with the league leaders and they know a victory over Arsenal would all but end the Gunners’ chances of a top four finish.

Arsenal’s form has been erratic at best, particularly away from the Emirates. Amazingly, Arsenal have lost 3-1 on their travels three times in the league this season, have lost four of their previous six away games and have only secured one point from a possible 18 away to teams in the top eight of the table.

This match ended in a 2-2 draw in 2015/16 and a 1-1 draw at Arsenal earlier in the season. Bovada price a tie at +280 and that looks like a good bet, but Spurs are playing Arsenal at a good time and should live up to their favorites tag.

Arsenal should be without Shkordan Mustafi in the middle of defense while Laurent Koscielny faces a late fitness test before the game. If neither of these players make it into the starting 11, a Spurs win with a -1 spread at +155 looks like the bet to make.

Pick: Tottenham Hotspur win with a -1 spread at +155
