OSB Maverick Vinales Heads Long Shot List For Title

The 2024 MotoGP season currently enjoys kind of an unexpected hiatus to the 2024 season. Now, with so much off time, that had us scrambling a little bit. Yes, Francesco Bagnaia trimmed the title deficit to 18 points after a thrilling sweep in Italy. Again, Jorge Martin crashed out in the Sprint and made one little mistake to end up third in the race. What about some of the longer shot 2024 MotoGP Futures Picks? Those could be fun.

  • WHAT: 2024 MotoGP World Tile Race - June Update
  • WHEN: From Now until late November
  • WHERE: From Assen, Netherlands (Motul TT Aasen) to Spain

So, the key now is the concept of waiting. We anticipate for what figures to be a strange run of races (Netherlands, Germany, then another break). Does the back and forth really matter? Again, all the contenders are in a row but taking shots at something different is worth a try perhaps. Also, remember these betting site bonuses and promotions, with the break being here. Okay, cue up the MotoGP online betting odds:

2024 MotoGP Futures Picks - Again The Lessons Of The Past

The 2024 MotoGP Futures Picks teach us again the lessons of the past. While the Italian course at Mugello is still somewhat fresh in our heads (yes there was that testing), we wonder what will happen next at the Dutch-German combination. Yes, the end of the month expects to bring changes as technical courses seem to favor Jorge Martin a bit more. Typically, the Sprint brings a different part of the equation. However 7-8 races in is usually when we have a pretty good idea for contenders, pretenders, and also-rans.

Six riders have 100 or more points in this portion of the season. We expect one of those six to more than likely win the title. The past few years have seen one guy come from pretty far back. Ironically, that was two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia. He won a few races early, got hot late, and overtook Fabio Quartararo. Now, the rest is truly history.

Wagering on MotoGP gets so tricky with these kinds of breaks. Again, remember Factory Ducati carries the least amount of upgrades. This may not matter much but some of the other manufacturers have more chances to develop and harness their bikes' potential.

So, this year we try to take a look at who from the fringes could go on that run and shock everyone. It feels like the most logical thing in this crazy 2024 season. Yes, that's right. Let's go even more crazy!

Maverick Vinales Top Gun Of The Long Shot Class

Okay, Maverick Vinales is the top gun of the long shot class of the equation. The Spaniard won early in the season in Texas of all places. The 2024 MotoGP Futures Picks like that +4000 number on BetOnline. Could that number perhaps fan out err lengthen even more? It remains an excellent question.

Vinales lies sixth in the standings currently with exactly 100 points. He is at 71 points behind Martin for the lead. Spaniards occupy four of the top six spots. The Bagnaia-Bastianini duo occupies the other two spots. Vinales has raced well at the Aasen and has some solid Great Britain results too. Unfortunately, the question comes simply as this? Can the Aprilla punch through and get several podiums in a row?

If Vinales can turn back the clock (see the 2017 start), anything is possible. The Spanish rider will have to perform almost as well in the Sprints. Those are always a mixed bag. For those wondering, Vinales had four podiums and three wins in the first six starts a mere seven years ago. He finished third in the points standings as he did again in 2019.

The hope is that +4000 lengthens a little but for now, he represents the best hope of those at least 60 or more points off the early pace. His bike has a few more upgrades in the can so to speak. That could pay dividends late in the campaign.

2024 MotoGP Futures Picks And Going Further

2024 MotoGP Futures Picks and going further off the grid. The problem is a few of these drivers actually have a championship pedigree. However, that was some time ago. Youth reigns supreme and already Pedro Acosta (the rookie) is in fifth in the MotoGP Title Standings. That is impressive for a rider who would not be able to legally drink in the United States yet. Anyway, Brad Binder is still one of those that need to get a look.

Binder stands seventh with 85 points. It has been rough the past five races with the talented rider totaling 10 points or less every time out. However, his bike has been close. Also, his first race produced a near win and had five top six results in the final six races of the 2023 season. Also, the Australian had some solid sprint finishes mixed in too.

Honestly, tracks like Austria have been great for Binder. He has won twice there with several good showings. He would have to get on quite a run but from this far out, Binder may be the only one who honestly has that kind of pedigree.

Vinales Or Bust From This End Of The Pool

Vinales or bust from this end of the pool is not so bad in MotoGP. For other possible bets (including season head-to-head wagers), look at the BetOnline Sportsbook Review. Look for those in June or early in July

Finally, there are rumors that Sprint betting could become more prevalent again on sites like BetOnline, MyBookie, and Bovada. We will keep an eye out. In the meantime, good luck!
