The NASCAR Cup Series heads down south for Sunday's Autotrader Echo Park Automotive 400, which takes place at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. The event is scheduled to get started around 3:30 PM ET. William Byron is coming off his third win of the season last weekend, at the spring race in Martinsville and that has him as one of the favorites here at +450. Kyle Larson (+500) is also expected to contend, while the likes of Denny Hamlin (+600), Christopher Bell (+750), Martin Truex Jr (+800), and Ryan Blaney (+1000) are among the potential frontrunners in Texas, too. This race has had many different names over the years and initially debuted in 2005. There are 80 laps in stage one, 85 laps in stage two, and 102 in stage three. Byron is also the reigning champion, which only adds fuel to the fire for his chances on Sunday. Chevrolet has won the last three races. Something to keep in mind.

William Byron (+450)

Byron may not be in first place in the standings, but he's been one of the most consistent drivers in the Cup Series in 2024. He leads the circuit with three victories while earning five top-10s and three top-fives as well. He tends to turn up in Texas, winning last September here in the playoffs and finishing 11th or higher in all of his last five appearances on this track. Byron has finished first, seventh, and first in his last three races. Needless to say, the Hendrick Motorsports star is in good form at the moment. He is deservingly a favorite here. Keep an eye on Byron.

Kyle Larson (+550)

Larson has two career wins in Texas, both coming in 2021. He hasn't done that well on this track in recent memory but his only win in 24' was on an intermediate track, which is similar to Texas. Larson is at the top of the standings right now with 309 points and has led for a Cup Series-best 454 laps, including four stage wins. Larson is in very good form, finishing as a runner-up in Martinsville while coming in third at Richmond. He has three top-five finishes in his last four races. Larson is worth some type of bet on Sunday, even if it's a specific one.

Denny Hamlin (+600)

Hamlin has three career wins at Texas, but recent history here says he won't be a contender on Sunday. In his last 11 appearances on the track, he's only finished in the top five on three occasions. Hamlin has two wins on the year at Bristol and Richmond, which has him in third place in the Cup Series standings. Hamlin finished in 11th last Sunday in Martinsville.

Christopher Bell (+750)

Bell does well in Texas. Although he's never won, he was fourth in 2023 and also top-five in both 2020 and 2021. Bell was on quite the roll before coming in 34th in Martinsville, finishing sixth in Richmond, second at COTA, 10th at Bristol, and winning the Phoenix race. He is just 11th in the standings at the moment though and needs another string of good results to catapult himself into the top-five. It's still very early though.

Martin Truex Jr (+800)

Truex Jr is definitely one to fade on Sunday. In 34 appearances in Texas, he's never won. That in itself is enough evidence to not bet on him. He's also finished in the top-five just once in his last nine outings here. Truex Jr hasn't won a race yet this season but sits in second place thanks to two top-fives and five top-1os. He's only 14 points behind Larson, but don't expect him to gain any ground on Sunday. This is frankly not a place he has any success.

Autotrader Echo Park Automotive 400 picks

There are a couple of picks I like here. First, I'm taking Byron to grab another win because he's hot. It's worth a shot. Also, Christopher Bell for a top-five finish. It just feels right. Lock these two in to make some money for the Texas race.
