You should note one thing about the Mirage Las Vegas sportsbook hours: They are currently reduced from the above schedule due to the coronavirus pandemic. It has constantly changed leading into the start of 2021, but in an effort to mitigate the time people spend within close proximity to one another, some sportsbooks under the MGM umbrella have been running on a 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. schedule Monday through Wednesday, if not outright closing their doors.
Location of Mirage Sportsbook
The Mirage sportsbook is located closer to the northernmost end of The Strip, as in the opposite part of the street that features the Mandalay Bay and New York-New York hotels and casinos, at 3400 South Las Vegas Boulevard. This can make it a little more difficult to walk end-to-end, since The Strip spans about four miles, but it's still close enough to the McCarran International Airport. Traveling in either direction should take you around 12 minutes during normal traffic hours.
Some people choose to rent a car in order to more quickly journey up and down The Strip when they stay toward one of the ends. We don't recommend it, at least not in this case. Though MGM Mirage sportsbook is currently offering free parking as a way of welcoming guests back amid the pandemic, they will eventually return to their daily $15 fee model—which applies to both hotel guests and those coming in from the outside.
It's a different story entirely if you're hoping to go on excursions fairly far away from The Strip. For the most part, you should be just fine using shuttles and rideshares or taxis. Going that route will save most a ton of money.
Place Your Bets at Mirage Sportsbook
At some hotels and casinos, the sportsbook is an ancillary feature. It exists out of convenience because every place has a sportsbook. Think along the lines of the ultra-tiny operation at Planet Hollywood.
This isn't the case at the Mirage sportsbook. They have seating for 269 people, plus private luxury boxes that you can reserve for blocks of time. You typically have to promise a betting minimum to use them, but they're great for groups that want to exit and enter the sportsbook without worrying about whether they'll lose their seat.
Although the Mirage's sportsbook only boasts 10 larger TV screens, they're not short-changing patrons. For one, these screens are massive—up to 85 inches wide. Beyond that, the room also includes 150 individual screens that can be tuned to different events based on customer preferences. This is particularly useful for those who wish to bet on horse races since those aren't usually on one of the main screens unless it's the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, or one of the other major events.
Some gamblers will lament the static hours of operation seven days per week. They can be a tad limiting on Saturday and Sunday during the college football and NFL seasons. Many sportsbooks open their doors around 7 a.m. to accommodate those who wish to pounce on early-bird lines.
This isn't worth harping on. Opening at 8 a.m. is early enough, and the Mirage sportsbook odds are always posted by 9 a.m. On top of that, they also stay open later on an average night than most other sportsbooks. You don't have access to place bets until 1 a.m. on the weekends, but you don't have to worry about being pushed out the door by 9 or 10 p.m. during the weekdays.
Don't be concerned about the large capacity of the Mirage sportsbook, either. Mirroring your home-watching experience is a breeze. Not only are they teeming with those individual screens, but they have a bar inside the sportsbook that you can use to order drinks and food and even sit at.

There is something for everyone inside the Mirage's casino. They spread out their slot machines and a large assortment of table games—blackjack, roulette, poker, craps, etc.—over more than 100,000 square feet. Operating with that type of space allows them to cram in a bunch of gaming options while effectively accommodating foot traffic so you don't feel like you're on top of other gamblers.
High rollers are given their own section in which they can play various slots and table games. Everyone, meanwhile, has the option of signing for the M Life rewards program.
This promotional membership does not earn you points at the sportsbook, but every bet you place at slot machines and tables will count towards your total. You can then redeem those points for a number of perks like show tickets, dining experiences, and even betting credits. During certain times of the year, you may even get free money to use at the casino just for signing up.
As is the case at many casinos in Vegas, the drinks served on the floor are complementary. However, you have to actively be placing bets at a slot machine or table. Some MGM-brand hotels even use a voucher system that gets you one free drink only after you've placed $20 in wagers.
One Vegas hack that could prove life-changing: Stand out from other customers by handsomely tipping those who bring you cocktails. You're already saving a ton of money on the drinks. You can spare it. And by giving them a little extra, you guarantee they'll return with more drinks sooner, while also opening the door for them to potentially provide you with top-shelf liquor at no extra charge.
This should go without saying, but the Mirage casino, like every other betting establishment, is for those over the age of 21. They do not aggressively ID people upon entry, but they have hi-tech security tracking that will use facial features to spot potentially underage patrons. Security is then tasked with getting identification from anyone who appears younger than 21.
Long story short: Don't try to fool the security technology in Vegas. You won't win.
Staying at the Mirage
Almost anyone can afford to stay at the Mirage.
The cheapest of their 3,000-plus rooms start at just $85 per night, though you will be subject to a $39 daily resort fee. That extra cost is no doubt a bummer, but every Vegas hotel now charges them, even if some are cheaper than others. This resort fee helps ensure access to amenities like wi-fi, a business center, a gym, a pool, and a spa.
Standard rooms at the Mirage also feature more than the normal amount of amenities within them. Each has at least one 42-inch LCD TV, an iHome dock, Posturepedic pillows, and cordless phones. You can also order room service at any time, day or night.
The Mirage offers guests plenty of entertainment options, as well. Terry Fader is currently their only recurring headliner, but they bring in a ton of different comedy acts throughout the year.
Shopping and nightlife can be admittedly a little rough. The Mirage is not stocked with trademark clubs, and it has only a handful of shops, most of which are novelty stores like the Sugar Factory. You'll be better off heading out to the Miracle Mile Shops near Planet Hollywood if you want the full-on mall experience, and there is no shortage of clubs located on the rest of The Strip.
Finding a place to eat is much easier. They have more than 15 restaurants (both upscale and mid-end), cafes, delis, and grab-and-go establishments. The Mirage's buffet—aptly called Cravings—is also rated among the best all-you-can-eat joints on the ship.
Overall, unless you're looking to only indulge the party scene, the Mirage offers everything you need to maximize your Vegas trip—and more.
