Must EPL picks

By Matt Pitt

Manchester United (+110) vs. Liverpool (+250)

Rooney

The pick of the weekend’s games takes place on Sunday at Old Trafford when in-form Manchester United host high-flying Liverpool.

United are the in-form Premier League team in the last six games, winning all six, scoring 12 goals and conceding only three. Jose Mourinho’s men seem to be gelling and producing performances akin to the days of former manager Alex Ferguson.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last three away games, winning twice and drawing once since falling 4-3 on the road to Bournemouth. Liverpool have conceded 16 goals in 11 away games and have kept only three clean sheets, which suggest they give their opponents far too many chances when they are on their travels.

These sides drew 0-0 at Anfield earlier in the season and this game last season ended in a 1-1 draw. This encounter will be a great battle of wits with Mourinho the master of defense while Jurgen Klopp favors attacking football. Will both styles cancel each other out? Probably, so a tie at +240 looks great value.

It is also worth backing Wayne Rooney to score at any time at +175 as the England captain is only one goal away from becoming Manchester United’s all-time leading scorer and what better way to break the record than by scoring against Liverpool.

Pick: Draw at +240

West Ham United (+110) vs. Crystal Palace (+240)

PalaceWest Ham United versus Crystal Palace may not be a fixture that draws in your attention, but if you like to bet on the goals markets then you should be making a beeline towards this one.

West Ham may have only scored nine goals at home this season, but they have only failed to score twice in 10 games on home soil. At the other end of the field, the Hammers’ defense has conceded 16 goals during the same period.

Crystal Palace are only one point above the relegation zone thanks to their defensive woes. Away from Selhurst Park, Palace have conceded 22 goals in 10 games and have failed to keep a single clean sheet. Scoring goals isn’t a problem for them as they have found the back of the net 17 times on the road, only failing to score twice.

You can understand why backing the over 2.5 goals market at -110 at Bovada makes perfect sense.

Pick: Over 2.5 goals at -110

Leicester City (+425) vs. Chelsea (-160)

ChelseaStruggling Leicester City, the reigning Premier League champions, entertain Chelsea this weekend hoping to exact revenge for their 3-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season. Claudio Ranieri’s men cannot string two or three good results together, which is why they languish in 15th place and only five points above the drop zone.

Chelsea’s form is the polar opposite, having won 13 games in a row until they lost 2-0 away at Tottenham Hotspur last week. The Blues are five points clear at the top of the table and could extend that lead to eight with a win at Leicester.

This game ended 2-1 in Leicester’s favor last season and that result is priced at +1600 this campaign, showing how poor Leicester have been.

I fancy Leicester to come away with a share of the spoils in this game; it will be interesting to see how Chelsea react to losing. This, plus the fact Leicester’s side is blessed with pace, something the Chelsea defense does not cope particularly well with.

A 1-1 draw comes in at +600 and that looks to be the bet I’ll be going for here.

Bovada correct score market
