The D Las Vegas is located in the world-famous part of Downtown Las Vegas, at 301 Fremont St. By staying and playing there, you're in the thick of the ultra-busy Fremont Street experience that includes plenty of street performers, bars, and just places to generally hang around at.
Though the D Las Vegas is further away from the Harry Reid International Airport (formerly known as the McCarran International Airport) than many of their counterparts, it's not a long drive. Traveling in either direction will take under 15 minutes, by car, in normal traffic.
Rideshares and shuttles, in addition to walking, remain the most convenient ways to get around Las Vegas. But if you’re driving, The D Las Vegas makes it simple: guests receive complimentary self-parking and valet service, and non-guests can also use the garage at standard hourly rates.
Place Your Bets at D Las Vegas Sportsbook
Religious sports bettors will have a tough time acclimating themselves to the setup at the D Las Vegas. They are more of a commuter's betting hub, a place at which to submit your wager and then leave, more so than anything else.
If you're looking to hang around and watch a game or just kill some time at a sportsbook specifically, you're better off heading back to The Strip. Places like the MGM Grand and Bellagio, among other places, have a lot bigger operations designed to let you kick back, order some drinks, place some bets and watch the most important live sporting events.
This isn't necessarily a knock against the D Las Vegas. People have things they want to do other than just gamble when they're in Sin City. Maybe they've booked a show. Or maybe they're going to a concert. They might want to spend most of their time in a casino. Heck, they might only be staying at the D Las Vegas for the rock-solid room rates and kill most of their time on The Strip anyway.
That’s fine. In fact, that’s the exact customer base to which the D Las Vegas sportsbook caters. They have around 10 screens if you want to check in on the action, but the setup is intentionally low-key. Seating is limited, and while the sportsbook itself doesn’t double as a lounge, you’re only steps away from the Vue Bar and other on-site options for drinks. Special events aren’t a big focus here (beyond occasional football pools), so the space is mainly designed for quickly placing your bets and then heading out to enjoy the rest of your night.
For the most part, this is a good setup. Because it's so lowkey, the D Las Vegas isn't prone to long lines of customers. Their odds are also culled from bigger sportsbooks. You're by and large getting the same line on the NFL, college football, NBA, etc. that you would anywhere else.
Dealing with limited hours on the weekend can be a little annoying. Most sportsbooks extend their operating time by opening at 7 a.m and/or closing at 12 a.m. or 1 a.m. The D Las Vegas is just a straight 15-hour sportsbook seven days a week.
It's easy to get over this. They open early enough to capitalize on early-Bird lines during the college football and NFL seasons. Guests should just be happy they're able to access lines across all sports without battling large crowds.

D Las Vegas Casino
As far as casino floors go, the D Las Vegas is on the smaller end. Their gaming area spans 42,000 square feet, which is roughly one-third the size of many places on The Strip.
This is to be expected. They don't have as many rooms and are targeting a demographic that traditionally doesn't spend.
What's more, the casino floor is incredibly serviceable for something that exists purely as a courtesy. They don't have a poker room, but they have all the usual table games such as poker itself, blackjack, roulette, and craps. They also have enough slots to keep you occupied for days.
Additionally, they put an interesting spin on the casino experience by having live musical acts performing right there on the floor. It's like being at a karaoke bar, except you're not only drinking and watching. You're also gambling.
Anyone who plans on playing at the D Las Vegas should join the Club One loyalty program. It is absolutely free, and you can earn points for every dollar you wager at the tables and slots. (The sportsbook is excluded.) Once you have enough points, they can be redeemed for discounted or free show tickets and bets.
To answer the question you're about to ask: Yes, you can get complimentary cocktails on the casino floor. Just make sure that you are actively gambling, and that you are also tipping your servers so they continue to come back in timely fashions.
Staying at the D Las Vegas
Room rates are the biggest selling point when considering a stay at The D Las Vegas. You can often book rooms starting around $29 per night, and unlike most Strip resorts, The D does not tack on an extra resort fee. That difference alone can save guests $40–$50 per night compared to Strip properties, where resort fees have climbed sharply in recent years.
Of course, the affordability comes with trade-offs. The rooms are clean but more basic than luxury, designed mainly as a place to crash rather than a space to linger. The D now offers a fitness center and pool, but the overall amenity set is smaller than what you’ll find at mega-resorts on Las Vegas Boulevard.
For some travelers, that’s a deal-breaker. But with Strip hotels now averaging over $200 per night before resort fees, many visitors see the cost-benefit balance at The D as well worth it. In fact, the rising fees and higher overall prices on the Strip have been cited as one reason tourism numbers dipped in 2025. Staying downtown at The D gives budget-conscious visitors a way to enjoy Vegas without paying a premium just to sleep there.
Most guests will inevitably venture out to get food, but the D Las Vegas doesn't leave them hanging. It has a steakhouse on-site, plus a McDonald's and Krispy Kreme. If you're looking to see a traditional Vegas show—comedian, burlesque act, magician, etc.—you'll have to journey to The Strip, but Fremont Street provides plenty of entertainment on its own after the sun goes down.
After weighing all the factors, it's clear the D Las Vegas is an ideal place to stay and play for the budget-conscious. And while it doesn't offer the quintessential Las Vegas experience on its own, you're close enough to The Strip that you can still have it—without having to pay top dollar for it.
