Portugal may not be one of the early favorite to win Euro 2020, but there are the underdogs of choice for thousands of sports bettors around the globe, partly because large numbers of their 23-man squad have been in incredible form for their club teams, and also because they could have a slightly easier route to the final due to how the competition is structured. Greece pipped Portugal to the post at Euro 2004, leaving Portugal with a runner-up finish, their best performance at the European Championships at that time.
They reached the quarter-finals in 2008, then the semi-finals in 2012, then Portugal beat France in the final in 2016. A win that shocked the world, considering they were playing such a strong team and now the reigning World Cup holders.
The Portuguese have quality throughout their squad, with the majority of the players chosen playing their club football for some of Europe’s elite clubs.
One area of potential weakness, although it didn’t show in qualifying, is the Portuguese defence. Ruben Dias (24), Pepe (38), and Joāo Cancelo (26) are all top-tier players, alongside the attacking talent that Portugal has, they are looking very strong.
The Portugal midfield is quite inexperienced, with Joao Moutinho on 113 caps being a leader there. Another high-capped player is Cristiano Ronaldo with 170+ appearances so far in a Portugal shirt.
However, with Nani, Bernado Silva, and the young João Félix leading the line upfront for Portugal, you cannot deny that they have some serious firepower at their disposal and this alone should see them sail through the group and deep into the knockout stages.

Portugal Online Betting Tips
Portugal start Euro 2020 as fifth favorites to win with odds of +800, which does seem like good value, especially as that price could plummet if they get out of their group and draw a lesser team in the round of 16.
+10000 on Cristiano Ronaldo to finish as top scorer makes the Juventus man favorite, and again this looks like a decent bet if Portugal hit the ground running.
