Best Bet To Win La Liga Title

As it always is, the La Liga winner will come down to Barcelona or Real Madrid. There’s a huge gap between them and the rest of the betting field. Here’s how the best soccer betting sites have odds listed:

Barcelona won the championship a year ago, surprisingly so. Real Madrid, despite all their star, underachieved inside the league and even the Champions League. For the most part, Barca returns most of that team, minus Inigo Martinez. New additions include goalkeeper Joan Garcia and forward Marcus Rashford.

Then there’s Madrid, which is in the complete opposite situation. They will look and play much differently this season — but whether that’s good or bad is the million-dollar question. It starts either way the new manager Xabi Alonso. Of course, he’s an all-time great player for Real Madrid and Spain in general, but the verdict isn’t out on his managerial skills.

For much of last season, Real Madrid looked second-rate to Barcelona and they were in head-to-head matches. Barcelona won 4-0 and 5-2. Many blamed the season-long issues on egos and effort. Madrid just didn’t play like a cohesive unit, and didn’t run the length of the field like you’d want a championship team to. That’s why Alonso is here, but it might take more than one offseason to right the ship.

We’re betting Barcelona here. There’s just less of a mystery with them than Real Madrid. We know what we’re going to get out of Barca. Plus, we get another year of the Lamine Yamal show, who’s now 18 years old and gets the No. 10 shirt for the first time. Barcelona is the wise pick here all things considered.

Best Bet To Score Most Goals In La Liga

Yamal isn’t the only star getting No. 10 shirt for the first time — so is Kylian Mbappe for Real Madrid. It was a forgettable debut season for Mbappe, who left PSG to play in La Liga. It just so happened PSG won a Champions League without him, while Madrid (the prior UCL winners) regressed. Coincidence? Eh, probably. Despite the drama, Mbappe has the best soccer odds at becoming the league's top scorer. Here’s the current lines:

Robert Lewandowski+135+135+135
Raphinha+1000+1000+1000
Alexander Sørloth+1300+1300+1300
Julian Alvarez+1300+1300+1300

Naturally, Yamal and Mbappe are drawing comparisons to Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the old No. 10s for their respective clubs. It’s a fun comparison, but a silly one at that. Messi, Ronaldo are both all-timers due to their longevity, and as we’ve seen time over time, no other recent footballers have compared. Plus, Yamal is better at setting up scores than doing it himself, hence why he’s not even in the odds list above.

Mbappe is though, and to be frank, we’re fading him as bet — despite him winning the award a year ago with 31 goals. Why? Because of what we said earlier, we just don’t know if Alonso will fare. One of his biggest jobs is to figure out a way for Mbappe and Vini Jr. to co-exist together. Both are giant talents alone, but together? Who knows. Mbappe will also be without the help of midfielder Toni Kroos this season. The longtime star retired this offseason.

If not Mbappe, then the ageless wonder Lewandowski becomes our default pick. He’s on the cusp of turning 37 years old. People keep expecting a drop-off in production but it’s nowhere to be found. Lewandowski has 27 goals in 34 matches last season. We actually expect Lewandowski to be better in 2026 with Yamal’s continud progression.

Best Bet To Be Relegated In La Liga

Yes, this is a bet, and a fun one at that. The bottom-three teams at season’s end will be relegated from the league — who will they be? Here’s the current odds:

Per usual, you have to start with the three new promoted teams. Whether it’s La Liga or EPL, the new clubs are always most at risk of being dropped back down. The jump in competition, and more importantly, the cost to compete are always a burden in their call-up season.

In La Liga, that will be Levante, Elche and Real Oviedo this year. We think you can confidently bet on all three, and at the very least, hit on two of them. Limited finances put a ceiling on all three, as they each spend roughly $10 million on salaries — a far cry from Real Madrid, who will pay Mbappe more than $30 million this year alone (more than the three teams combined). Best of luck to Levante, Elche and Real Oviedo, but we’re betting against 'em all.
