Conversely, Florida State faced a historical setback, becoming the first undefeated Power Five conference champion excluded from the CFP.

With a 13-0 record and an ACC Championship, the Seminoles found themselves outside the four-team playoff due to quarterback injuries.

The selection committee considered their last two victories, which were achieved without star Jordan Travis, who suffered a season-ending leg injury.

Backup Tate Rodemaker stepped in, securing a comeback win over Florida to cap a 12-0 NCAAF standings record.

Unfortunately, Rodemaker was unavailable for the ACC Championship against Louisville, where freshman Brock Glenn struggled in his first college start.
