The Northern Trust Open
Formerly known as The Barclays, The Northern Trust is the first stop on the PGA Tour playoff series for the FedEx Cup. The field consists of 125 players, based on the FedEx points from the regular season. The tournament has been around for 54 editions, hosting the first championship in 1967 at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, New York.
The 2020 edition is scheduled to be played at the TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts. The Par 71 stroke play tournament alternates hosts in three states: New York, New Jersey and Boston. The 2021 Northern Trust tournament will be held at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.

The BMW Championship
The second stop on the PGA Tour playoff series and one of the younger championships on the tour is the BMW Championship. In this short time, the contest has earned the title of the Tournament of the Year in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The BMW Championship is scheduled for August 20 to 23rd, 2020 at Olympia Fields, Illinois.
The BMW Championship is a little over a decade old, it actually has a very rich history in the golf industry. Formerly known as the Western Open, the contest has been held over one hundred times since 1899. In 2007, the name and invitational criteria changed, introducing the BMW Championship. The tournament restricted amateur golfers from entering, and it became the third stop on the FedEx Cup playoff series.
The top 70 PGA Tour golfers who survived the Northern Trust tournament, are invited to compete at the BMW Championship. The tournament is a par 70 stroke play tournament, and with only 70 players on the field, there is no 36-hole cut. The top 30 participants of the BMW Championship will advance to the final playoff event – The Tour Championship – where the FedEx Cup will be presented.

The Tour Championship
The final stop, and most exciting of the PGA Tour playoff series, the Tour Championship crowns the winner of not only the Tour Championship, but also of the FedEx Cup. This new formatting was introduced in 2019. The top 30 players from the BMW Championship advance to compete in the par 30 stroke play tournament in late August.
In 2019 the format changed and the players are seeded based on their rankings and start with certain handicaps.

Betting on the FedEx Cup
