2021 Monday Night NFL Picks: Can Seahawks Get Back on Track vs. WFT in Week 12?

If the latest 2021 NFL betting odds are any indication, the Seattle Seahawks' season is pretty much over. Entering their Monday Night Football matchup with the Washington Football Team on November 29, they have lost five of six games and are 3-7 on the year overall.

Thus, for this batch of 2021 Monday Night NFL picks, we have no choice but to ask whether the Seahawks can figure out how to get back on track vs. WFT in Week 12.

Let us begin, like always, by taking a look at the latest Monday Night Football betting odds, courtesy of BetOnline:

Seattle Seahawks Entering Desperation Mode

In addition to dropping Monday Night Football predictions for the moneyline on the Seahawks-WFT matchup, we also have NFL picks on the Seahawks-WFT point spread and Seahawks-WFT over/under

Basically, we have every aspect of this Week 12 Monday Night Football game covered. Knowing what's at stake for the Seahawks, how could we not?

Seahawks Take Down WFT...Barely

Bettors have not flocked toward the Seahawks ahead of Week 12. They opened as a -105 underdog. That line has since moved to +110, suggesting that faith in Seattle is wavering.

Any hesitance is not unfounded. Though the Seahawks season has in part been derailed because superstar quarterback Russell Wilson suffered the most serious injury of his career earlier in the campaign, his return under center has not sparked any sort of revival. Not only have the Seahawks won just once since he rejoined the fold, but their offense remains a jumbled mess of missed reads and poor pass protection.

The latter issue has long been a sticking point for Wilson, who complained about getting hit too much behind his offensive line this past winter. And hey: He has a point. No quarterback has been sacked more times than Russell Wilson since he entered the league in 2012. Seattle's constant attempts to find aging offensive linemen on the cheap appear to finally have taken their toll.

Still, Washington is not some world-beating defensive team. They struggle to put pressure on even the weakest O-Lines. WFT currently ranks 28th in net yards allowed per passing attempt and dead last in the league in passing touchdowns surrendered.

Even if you don't trust the Seahawks—and you shouldn't—peddling WFT as the favorite in this matchup feels too ambitious. Their offense has come together over the past two weeks, resulting in consecutive victories, but they continue to field one of the NFL's least talented rosters overall.

Seattle will Cover Point Spread vs. WFT

Here are the latest Seahawks-WFT point spread betting odds:

  • Seattle Seahawks (+2): -110
  • Washington Football Team (-2): -110

We have no decision to make here. Seattle is our pick to win the Week 12 Monday Night Football matchup, so they also have to be our pick to cover.

One thing we will say about the other side of the spectrum: If you prefer to bet on Washington to win, you might as well work the point spread over the moneyline. They are only laying a -130 as outright winners compared to -110 for a two-point spread.

Bet the Under on Seahawks-WFT

Here are the latest over/under betting odds for Seattle vs. WFT:

  • Over 48: -110
  • Under 48: -110

Betting the under always makes us a little queasy in matchups that feature one elite quarterback. But WFT vs. Seattle is an exception.

Yes, Wilson is a stud for the Seahawks. In theory. He hasn't looked like one lately. Neither Washington nor Seattle, in fact, ranks better than 21st in points scored per game.

Granted, WFT's defense is bad enough to forfeit an above-average number of scores to Seattle. That will drive up the final tally, particularly if Wilson improves his accuracy given the extensive time he should have while operating inside the pocket. But for all the Seahawks' flaws, they are seventh in points allowed per game. They should ensure Washington doesn't score enough for these two teams to flirt with a 50-point total.

OSB Prediction: Under 48 (-110)

Seahawks and WFT To score under 48 points
