Scheffler favored over Rory
Scottie Scheffler (+550) is favored to win his fourth career major. The 29-year-old won the PGA Championship earlier this year and tied for 8th at last week's Scottish Open. Scheffler tied for 7th at the 2024 Open - his best finish in four starts at the tournament.
Rory McIlroy (+700) claimed his first green jacket in April, completing the career grand slam. While he wasn't in contention in the past two majors, Rory tied for 2nd at the Scottish Open, showing he's in top form heading into this weekend.
Top contenders at The Open
Jon Rahm (+1100) has been competitive at every major this season - T-14th Masters, T-8th PGA Championship, T-7th U.S. Open. The 30-year-old Spaniard also had a T-11th finish the last time Royal Portrush hosted the Open in 2019.
Bryson DeChambeau (+2200) has struggled with links golf, managing only one top-ten finish in seven appearances while missing the cut three times. Still, the two-time U.S. Open winner has the talent to claim his third major this weekend.
Xander Schauffele (+2500) came from behind to win at Royal Troon last year. However, the defending champion has only one top-10 finish this season.

The Open Championship Longshot Picks
Tommy Fleetwood (+2500) placed second the last time the Open was at Portrush. Seeking his first major, the 34-year-old Brit finished inside the top ten in both 2022 and 2023 before missing the cut last year.
Robert MacIntyre (+2500) was the runner-up to J.J. Spaun at the U.S. Open last month. He has a game well-suited for links courses and tied for sixth on this course in his major debut back in 2019.
Viktor Hovland (+3000) missed the cut at last year's Open Championship but finished T-13, T-4 and T-12 in the previous three editions. While the Norwegian has a tendency to run hot and cold, he's bound to win a major sooner rather than later.
