Columbus Crew SC, otherwise known as “The Black and Gold,” should be challenging for top honors for years to come. In 2008, the Crew won their first and only MLS Cup, but they came close to securing a second title in 2015 when they were runners-up to the Portland Timbers. It was the Crew’s away form that let the side down, winning only twice, drawing four games and returning home with no points 11 times from 17 games. Berhalter needs to find a system that works on the road or 2017 will be another long season.

While Columbus Crew SC should have enough firepower to trouble most teams they face in 2017, they need to shore things up at the back. Crew have conceded 111 goals in the past two regular seasons. They place some great soccer, but sometimes pretty soccer doesn’t yield points.
