Betting On Baltimore Ravens Online

Having celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2016, the Baltimore Ravens are keeping their winning tradition alive. Established in 1996 as an expansion franchise, the club wasted little time leaving a mark in the National Football League. Just four years after entering the league, the Ravens captured their first of two Super Bowl championships, defeating the New York Giants in the final. Ray Lewis was the heart and soul of the Ravens that season, as the linebacker was named Super Bowl most valuable player. [+]

The Ravens would have to wait 10 years to taste glory once again as the club won the title in 2012, this time defeating San Francisco — a Super Bowl final that pitted Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh take on then 49ers coach brother Jim Harbaugh. It marked the first time in NFL history two brothers played in the Super Bowl as opposing head coaches and it was the Ravens’ John Harbaugh that prevailed

Quarterback Joe Flacco, who led the Ravens to both of their championships, is the franchise’s all-time leader in passing yards with more than 32,000. Flacco has also connected for more than 180 touchdown passes during his time with the Ravens. Jamal Lewis, who played nine seasons in Baltimore, is the club’s all-time rushing leader 1,822 yards and 45 touchdowns.

Baltimore Ravens Online Betting Tips

The Ravens have built a reputation of being a difficult team to score points on and that was the case again in 2016 when the club finished seventh overall in total defense. The Ravens’ 321 points against was also good for a top 10 finish, mostly because the Ravens held opponents to 89.4 yards rushing per game on average — a mark that was fifth best in the NFL.

Like many strong defensive teams in the AFC, the Ravens struggled offensively in 2016 and racked up a 17th-best total net yards with 5,563. In comparison, the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots finished with 6,180. Baltimore also put up 343 total points during the 2016, which was good for 21st overall.

The Ravens’ woes come from a weak running game. The team finished 28th in rushing with Terrance West producing many of the club’s carries. West had just 774 yards followed by Kenneth Dixon, who contributed 382.

Sportsbooks aren’t giving the Ravens much of a chance to win it all either. Bovada.lv pegged the Ravens as +4000 underdogs. However, a more intriguing bet to consider is Baltimore at +175 to win the AFC North. It’ll be a two-team race for the division crown with Pittsburgh, which seems to face injury question every season with QB Ben Roethlisberger.
