Few can argue against the Denver Broncos being a powerhouse team in the NFL. From 2011 to 2016, the Broncos made five consecutive playoffs and two Super Bowl appearances. The reason for Denver’s dominance is simple – they have tremendous talent at all positions of the field. In 2015, the Broncos landed an NFL-high total of nine players in the Pro-Bowl, including quarterback Peyton Manning, running back C. J. Anderson, wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, and defensive lineman Demarcus Ware.
The Broncos emerged as an AFL team in 1960. The team is based in Denver and competes in the AFC West Division. John Elway – who was himself a former quarterback legend for the Broncos – is the current general manager of the team. The Broncos have captured three Super Bowl titles and five conference championships.
Despite the Broncos’ successful performances in recent years, they were in a very different situation during their first decade of franchise history. Even with the presence of star running back Floyd Little from 1967 to 1975, Denver came out with a 39-97-4 record during the 1960s and did not make a postseason appearance until 1977 . Despite their lacklustre performance in the first 17 NFL seasons, the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl in 1977. The franchise was propelled by Elway, who played in 16 season with the team. Denver won consecutive Super Bowls during Elway’s final two seasons as quarterback.
Over the past five years, another great quarterback established a legacy with Denver – Peyton Manning. Manning’s tenure with the Broncos didn’t last all that long – joining the team in 2012 and ending in the 2015-16 season. Nonetheless, he was able to prove his knack for making brilliant passes and terrorizing just about any opposing defense. Even with his departure from the team, it is likely that the Broncos can at least maintain its strength both offensively and defensively in coming seasons.

Denver Broncos Online Betting Tips
The Denver Broncos missed the playoffs in 2016, finishing with a 9-7 record. While in many divisions that’d be enough to squeak in, that won’t be the case in a very competitive AFC West.
The Broncos will once again have to rely on their world-class defense to move up the standings. The club had the fourth rated defense in 2016, holding its opponents to 316.1 yards per game. The Broncos also recorded a third-best 42 sacks — 13.5 coming from linebacker Von Miller alone. Denver’s defense was exceptional on third downs, holding opponents to 86 conversions on 236 attempts. That gave the club a 36.4 percentage, which was good for fifth overall in the NFL.
BetOnline has set Denver’s projected win mark at 8.5, which would mean the club would have to match its victories total from 2016 in order to take the over. Can the Broncos win nine games?
Looking at the team’s schedule for 2017, it will certainly be close. Two of their opening four games will come against the Dallas Cowboys — 2016 NFC East champs — and the Oakland Raiders, who have a healthy Derek Carr returning and added Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch to the fold. Throw in other key matchups against the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots, and it’ll be tough for the 2015 Super Bowl champions to reach nine wins.
Defense will not be Denver’s Achilles heel. The Broncos will need a better performance from QB Trevor Siemian, who was 21st in passing yards and 22nd in TDs during the 2016 season.
