Eclipsing that total this season feels like a formality. Herbert continues to have Keenan Allen and Mike Williams to target through the air, and running back Austin Ekeler has been known to run a picture-perfect route or two.
Better 2022 NFL Props Bet: Josh Allen or Joe Burrow?
Most have identified the Buffalo Bills as a Super Bowl favorite. We're not ready to go that far.

Kyle Murray Might be Worth an Investment
Oddsmakers would no doubt be higher on Kyler Murray if the Arizona Cardinals signal-caller wasn't going to be without his top weapon. Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still slated to be suspended to start the season.
This doesn't quite deter us from keeping Murray in the mix. Marquise Brown and A.J. Green are both elite deep-ball threats themselves, and the Cardinals have added yet another pass-catching specialist in star tight end Zach Ertz.
Even if Hopkins has a year to forget—or doesn't return at all—we could see Murray leap-frogging the 35-touchdown plateau.
Better 2022 NFL Props Bet: Patrick Mahomes or Matthew Stafford?
Many bettors will gravitate toward Matthew Stafford, the captain of the reigning champion Los Angeles Rams. Their running back rotation still demands he throw a boatload of passes, and more than that, the Kansas City Chiefs let one of Patrick Mahomes' best weapons leave for the Miami Dolphins over the offseason in Tyreek Hill.
Still, while Hill's absence in KC is worth thinking about, it's not the end of the world. Mahomes is more responsible for the Chiefs' recent spate of success than anyone else. Hill made some pretty ridiculous catches, but Mahomes' arm does the heavy lifting.
And let's not pretend the Chiefs are all of a sudden barren of pass-catchers on the offensive end. They poached JuJu Smith-Schuster from the Pittsburgh Steelers and added Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the Green Bay Packers.
Oh, and then there's this superstar tight end called Travis Kelce. He could be good for 20-plus touchdown receptions on his own.

Other quarterbacks are working with a deeper arsenal of receivers. Some even have running back rotations capable of catching more passes. But this is all sort of the point.
Los Angeles leaned on Herbert to keep their offense going last season. This year will be no different. Their running back rotation almost demands he throw the ball 45-plus times per game. And fortunately for them, at 24, he remains young and spry enough to handle such a massive workload.
Don't be surprised if and when he flirts with 40-plus touchdowns over the course of 17 games.
