2025 NFL Division Bets Begin With A Shocker

2025 NFL division bets begin with a shocker. So, once again the Kansas City Chiefs will be a favorite to win the AFC West, get a million calls, and find their way to the Super Bowl. How about let us change the script? Most forget how competitive the division was last year and honestly, the Chiefs are not winning 15 games with their schedule. That leaves likely the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos as upset specials.

Denver managed to win 10 games last year and make the playoffs. Yes, they were humbled by the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. However, teams learn and grow. Bo Nix got much needed postseason experience and so did the Broncos. Sean Payton coaches a team that found its stride and was 10th in the NFL in points for and third in points against. Some forget their expected win total was close to 12 after last season.

Now, maybe 12 wins is enough to take the AFC West. Tiebreakers could figure into this. The one key thing for Denver is learning to win some more close games away from home. Late season road losses to the Chargers and Bengals cannot happen again. There is a prevailing thought that this will happen less frequently in 2025. It is partially why Denver bas become an intriguing second choice by a nose over a team like the Chargers ironically.

Some secretly hope that the +300 lengthens just a little. After all, the Chargers won 11 games and Jim Harbaugh had the top defense in terms of points allowed. However, there is this belief that Denver's defense could be more formidable this season. That is enough to take a chance with Denver.

Were Most Early With The Atlanta Falcons?

2025 NFL division bets ask were most early with the Atlanta Falcons? One of the simplest concepts in this world is to point out all the negatives of a team. Atlanta had plenty of those last year. For a team that ranked sixth in total yards offensively, they managed to be 13th in points. Defensively, there were too many contests where Atlanta just could not stop teams when it counted. As a result, the Falcons went 8-9 in a division where they should have won 10 games.

The surprise to most was that Atlanta went 6-3 to start the 2024 campaign. Equally as jolting was the 2-6 ending punctuated by two losses in overtime to teams Atlanta probably should have beaten. The Falcons beat Tampa Bay twice but lost to New Orleans despite racking up 468 yards of offense. It became a theme to their season all too often. On the bright side, there will not be a quarterback circus this year. Michael Penix Jr. will be the starter for the Falcons.

The question becomes is a full training camp with first-team reps make enough of a difference here. With the circus that was last season, what might have been if Cousins had not been hurt, played hurt, and turned the ball over so often? Sadly, no one will know the answer to that question. However, expect Atlanta to be improved. Even better news is that Atlanta will be playing AFC East teams. Aside from Buffalo, the other three teams in that division are beatable.

Again, the NFC South is always wild and 10 wins is likely enough to contend or win the division. Atlanta can get there just maybe a year later than most projected.

2025 NFL Division Bets Siding With The Green Bay Packers

Finally, what about 2025 NFL Division Bets siding with the Green Bay Packers? The Packers are in a tough division with potential Super Bowl contender in Detroit and a Minnesota team that won 14 games. There is this idea that Detroit and especially Minnesota are going to regress. Now, that opens the door slightly for a Green Bay team that squandered some divisional games.

On the bright side, Green Bay's +122 point differential was one of the best in the league last season. Jordan Love still makes a few too many mistakes but Josh Jacobs did get better as the year went on (1300+ yards rushing). Defensively, Green Bay tended to give up points late. Maybe, they need to be tested early. Green Bay opens up the season against Detroit and then four days later play the electric Washington Commanders.

With both those games at home, if they can get off to a 2-0 start, that might be just enough to squeak by Detroit in what should be a nip-and-tuck division battle.
